Alvina Jane Tovar

Funeral services for Alvina Jane Tovar, age 84, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Pastor Matt Hundley will officiate. Interment will be at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Alvina died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home.

Alvina Jane Tovar was born March 16, 1933 to Albert and Gena (Anderson) Nesset.  On March 29, 1954, she was united in marriage to Raymond Tovar in Albert Lea. Alvina enjoyed having her family around her; her grandkids were very important to her.  She always enjoyed visiting with family, especially for holidays.  Alvina liked playing cards and marble games, dancing, listening to her brother Arlen play, and spending time at the Eagle’s and Moose Clubs.

Alvina is survived by her children, Julie (Chris) Connelly, Scott (Pam) Tovar, Diana (Steve) Sundve, Candace (Mark) Sorgatz, Randy (special friend Leonda Lerud) Tovar; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Arlen Nesset; sister, Clarice Nesset; sister-in-law, Jay Nesset; and many nieces and nephews.

Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; infant son, Richard; and siblings, Arlene (Leonard) Williamson, Art Nesset, Telores (Hank) Knutson, Eleanor (Dale) Williamson, Kenny Nesset, and Bernice Wilkorn.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
