Bernard John Steensma

Bernard Steensma of Hollandale, born May 11, 1942, translated to glory on October 19, 2016. Bernard was a farmer near Hollandale until he retired in 2004. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hattie Steensma. He is survived by brothers, Andy (Phyllis), Elvin (Connie) and sister, Joann (Tom) Verstraete. He was a fantastic uncle to his 10 nephews and nieces to which he gave total acceptance and loving mentoring. This love had also been given to the 18 great-nephews and nieces that idolized him. He left them with a great legacy that will not be forgotten.

Services of celebration will be held at Hollandale Christian Reformed Church in Hollandale on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Hollandale Christian School or the charity of your choice.
