Cheryl Elaine Gabel

Memorial services for Cheryl Elaine Gabel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Cheryl died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at her home.

Cheryl Elaine Gabel was born in Austin, MN on July 8, 1946, the daughter of Philip and Doris (Lange) Johnson.  She grew up in southern Minnesota and attended school in Alden.  Cheryl worked as an aid at St. John’s Lutheran Community for many years.  She enjoyed flowers, plants, gardening and caring for her beloved pets.  Throughout her life, Cheryl made many sacrifices.  She will be remembered for her kind heart and soul. 

Survivors include her children, Troy (Dareen) Gabel of Austin, MN and Robert Gabel of Edina, MN; brother, Scott Johnson of Hayfield, MN; grandchildren, Crystal (Klint Anderson) Serrano and Nicole (Adam) Hanson; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Lucy; niece, Ranielle Johnson; and several cousins. 

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sister, Denise Johnson and brother, Randy Johnson.
