Connie Mae Krueger

Funeral services for Connie Krueger, age 81, of Blaine, Minnesota, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Hayward Lutheran Church in Hayward, Minnesota.  Rev. Josh Enderson will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Connie passed peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Edgemont Place Care Center in Blaine, MN after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Constance Mae Krueger was born June 22, 1936 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of George and Ingeborg (Wayne) Boyd.  She graduated from Albert Lea High School, valedictorian of her class.  She was united in marriage to Paul D. Krueger on June 13, 1954.  Paul and Connie eventually settled in St. James, MN where they raised their three children, Kent, Anne, and Beth.  Connie worked as the high school bookkeeper, at the Watonwan County Public Library, and later as church secretary for Zion Lutheran Church in Winter, WI when retirement had beckoned them to the north woods. After Paul’s death, Connie moved to Appleton, Wisconsin to be near family.  She eventually moved to Blaine, for specialized care where she enjoyed more time with family.

She served on countless boards and community councils, performed in community theatre productions, and committed herself to faithful service in all aspects of her life.  Connie was a published poet and enjoyed writing verse for family and friends, whether a short snippet for a card being sent or an ode to someone’s retirement.  She loved to knit, tend her flower gardens, create paper crafts, play piano, and bring a smile to everyone she encountered.  She had a deep love of nature and was most happy sitting with a cup of coffee and a cookie on her dock, listening to the call of the loons.  Her loving, generous, selfless, silly, kind, compassionate beautiful soul will be missed by many.

Connie is survived by her son, Kent (Lisa) Krueger; daughter, Anne (David) Eng; Beth (Matthew) Carpenter; grandchildren, Lauren Krueger, Adam (Heidi) Eng, Matthew Eng, Daniel Eng, Amanda (J.J.) Giles, and Joseph Carpenter; sister, Carole (LeMoyne) Eggum; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by parents, and love of her life, husband, Paul.

Sympathy and prayers to all Connie's family, she was a wonderful, delightful lady. I have happy memories of working with her at the Watonwan County Library, computers were just becoming popular and Connie took to that challenge and succeeded. I still have a going away poem she wrote for me, she truly was a special woman who touched the lives of many.

I met Connie when she lived in Winter, WI and attended Zion Lutheran Church. What a gem she was!! She was very much loved, admired, and respected here for her keen wit, warm heart, and great faith. She had such a gentle way abut her!! I have some of her flowers and a little yard ornament she gave me yrs ago before moving away. Sending love, peace and God's blessings to all her family.

Connie was and always will be one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. She was such a class act. She was warm, kind, clever, witty and oh so very talented. I never heard her utter an unkind word about anyone. I have so many fond memories of all of our theatrical/musical times together. I just adored her. My condolences to her children and grandchildren and all others who are missing her dearly. May she Rest In Peace. Susie Peterson, Break A Leg Productions and Zion Lutheran Church

We have many found memories of Connie. She gave so freely of her talents. Her protrails on stage are second to none. Her Aunt Eller from Oklahoma was one of our favorites. Her keen wit was oh such a special gift when she took up the pen. Her script for Show Stoppers was awesome! She will always be remembered!! Condolences to everyone whom loved her so dearly.
