Private funeral service for Darlene Anderson will be held on Tuesday (5/5) at 10:30am at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate. Burial will be in North Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Darlene Mae (Olson) Anderson, age 81, died at her home Friday, May 1, 2020, from her battle with congestive heart failure.

Darlene was born July 18, 1938, in Austin, MN.  She was the daughter of Oscar and Alice (Johnson) Olson.  She attended school in rural Austin and graduated from Austin High School.  She was united in marriage to Donald C. Anderson on September 5, 1958 at Oakland Midway Lutheran Church.

Darlene worked at Wilson's/Farmstead for over 30 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and never missed their school and sporting events.  She loved watching the wildlife on her farm and took pride in gardening.  Darlene and Don loved to travel. 

Darlene is survived by her son Mark Anderson and his wife Sherry of rural Clarks Grove, grandchildren Jarred Anderson, Amanda Anderson and Jordan Sterner, Spencer Anderson, great grandsons Paxton and Bowen Sterner, daughter Jodi Manor of Owatonna, granddaughter Brittany Manor, great granddaughters Mila and Emma Flynn, her brother Allen Olson and his wife JoAnn of Moscow, MN, and her sister Karen Kamenir of Arkansas.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Kim Anderson, and sister Beverly Olson.
