Denise Rae Johnson

Memorial services for Denise R. Johnson of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Rev. Denise died December 18, 2016 at her home.

Denise Rae Johnson was born on January 15, 1950 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Phillip and Doris (Lange) Johnson.  She grew up in Southern Minnesota and graduated from Alden High School.  Denise started working for Mayo Clinic on March 6, 1966 in the photographic lab as a photo processor.  She was asked to work on many of the photo and printing machines where she found her passion for color printing.  Denise eventually was able to work in the color printing department at Mayo until she retired on March 1, 2012.  She had incredible love for animals, not only her own pets, but also through her volunteering with Paws & Claws. She also enjoyed gardening, nice cars, and family get togethers. Denise will be remembered for her kind heart and soul.

Denise is survived by her sister, Cheryl Gabel; brother, Scott Johnson; nephews, Troy (Dareen) Gabel and Robert Gabel; niece, Ranille Johnson; and cousins.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and brother, Randy Johnson.
