Dennis Hunnicutt

Dennis Hunnicutt, age 80, passed away on June 6, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 21 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home, Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. A private family burial will follow at Alden cemetery.

Dennis was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, March 8, 1945 to James and Cleone Hunnicutt. He grew up in Alden and graduated in 1963 where he met and married his high school sweetheart Vicki Sorensen. They remained in love for 60 years. They moved to Chanhassen where they had both their children Matthew and Sarah.

Through hard work Dennis became successful as a Vice President at Sun Source in hydraulics sales and system design. Where he was highly respected and loved by all of his employees.

He hated to leave his job where he was forced to take a disability leave at age 50. He then retired in Crosslake, where he enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, fishing and hunting. He never lost faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through his many health trials.

He was often sought after for his sound advice and his sense of humor that made everyone enjoy being around him.

Dennis was a member of Crossroads church in Albert Lea. Dennis is survived by his wife Vicki, one week shy of their 60 year anniversary, children Matthew, Sarah, sister Carol (Wally) Hoyt, brother-in-law Steve (Candace) Sorensen and grandchildren Jordan and Madison Hunnicutt, and Mallory and Emily Rolf.
