Dolores Arlene Bartness

Dolores Arlene Bartness, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 2 PM at Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial shall follow the service at Hartland Cemetery. Pastor Robert Lawson will be officiating.

Dolores was born on August 23, 1938 to Wallace and Florence (Thompson) Seberson in Albert Lea, MN. She grew up in the Hartland area alongside her brothers Harold and Ronald, attending the schools in New Richland and Hartland. On March 16, 1957, she married Delano Bartness, and together they raised two wonderful sons. After the kids grew up, she worked as a beautician for 30 years before retiring.

Dolores had always found ways to occupy her time. She was fond of cardinals, butterflies, and angels and tried to include them in her decorating where she could. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and playing pool. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going out to their events as often as she could. She also enjoyed going on Bingo trips with her daughter-in-law.

Dolores is survived by her sons Alan Bartness and Larry (Rolaine) Bartness; granddaughters Stacy, Ashley, and Heather; brother Ronald Seberson; sisters-in-law Claire Seberson and Jeanie Holland; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delano Bartness; parents Wallace and Florence Seberson; brother Harold Seberson; father and mother-in-law Martin and Minnie Bartness; and many extended family members.

Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN, has been honored with assisting the family.
