Donna Mae Weber of Albert Lea, formerly of rural Myrtle, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 10AM with visitation to be held for an hour prior to the service. Pastor Karen Peterson will be officiating.
Donna was born on December 18, 1937, to Orville and Myrle Hove. She grew up in the Northwood area and graduated from Northwood High School. On April 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Weber. Together, they dairy-farmed near Myrtle, raising their family with love and devotion. After retirement, Donna and Bill moved to Albert Lea, where they continued to enjoy life in the company of family and friends.
A devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle, Donna found joy and strength in her faith and community. She cherished time spent with loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless smiles and joy to her days.
Donna was a talented and creative person. She was particularly proud of her beautiful hardanger embroidery—intricate pieces that reflected her patience and skill. In more recent years, she embraced diamond art, creating countless unique and colorful works. She enjoyed giving them as gifts, exhibiting them at the Freeborn County Fair, and filling her home with the vibrant results of her imagination and care.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Becky (Clark) Mittag of Glenville, MN, and Kathy (Greg) Leidal of Gretna, NE; grandchildren, Andrew (Kalaria) Mittag of Albert Lea, MN, Jonathan Mittag of Garner, IA, and Adam Mittag (friend Heather Henaman and children) of Lyle, MN; great-grandchildren, Ethan Hoeve, Mia and Royce Mittag; siblings, Cathy Montagne and Debra Lutz, both of California; special friend Karri Reese of Albert Lea; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Weber; parents, Orville and Myrle Hove; siblings, Marlene Miller, Orville (Bud) Hove, Charles (Chuck) Hove, and Larry Hove; and her nephew, Todd Hove.
Donna’s warmth, creativity, and deep love for her family will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
