Dwane Rex Hargis

Dwane Rex Hargis was born December 21, 1917, to John V. and Priscilla Brown Hargis in Ida Grove, IA. He attended school in Hayward. On June 14, 1947, Dwane was united in marriage to Judith M. Prantner in Glenville. He had been employed at the Continental Foundry and as a janitor in the Albert Lea School District, retiring at age 62. Dwane was a member of St. Theodore Church. He was a quiet and humble man who enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and spending time with his family. Survivors include brothers, George Hargis and wife Beverly and Roger Hargis and wife Marlene, all of Manly, IA; sisters, Zora Crane of Northwood, IA, and Betty Athey of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law, Doris Hargis of Austin; and many nieces and nephews. Dwane was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; sisters, Mabel McIlwain and Irene Dorman; brother, John Hargis Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Athey and Giles Crane.
