Funeral services for Edith Mae Jackson, age 100, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Edith died Sunday, June 3, 2018 in the presence of her family. She had resided at Oak Park Place for many years.
Edith Mae Jackson was born on August 23, 1917 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer Conklin and Mary Ellen (Wagoner) Mason. She attended school in Dodge Center and Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. On July 5, 1936, Edith married W. Bernard “Bernie” Jackson in Minneapolis. Together, they owned National Welding Supply. Edith enjoyed painting pictures, gardening, knitting, cooking, and playing dominos or dice. She received a certificate for solo flight in an airplane.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Bunny (Ray) Jepson and Jane (Jerry) McColloch; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois and Eunice of Rice Lake, Wisconsin and Jean of Woodbury, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Millie of Becker, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; infant daughter; son, Dick Jackson; and seven brothers and sisters.
