Faith Kirsch, beloved by all who knew her, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 16, 2026. She lived a life marked by love, kindness, and deep devotion to those around her. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 7 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, February 6 and for one hour prior to service in Saturday. Burial will be at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Faith Kirsch was born on May 17, 1932, to Samuel and Agnes (Haughton) Nelson. She was raised on the family farm outside of Hayward, MN. Faith graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1949 and went on to attend a year of business school in Mankato. The following year, she met and married Thomas Kirsch. Together, Tom and Faith were blessed with eleven children and made their life on an acreage south of Albert Lea. Faith was a fierce advocate for her children, and her love for family never wavered. She often said her own mother was the absolute best, and Faith proudly followed in her mother's footsteps. To her family, she was deeply loved and admired as both a mother and grandmother. For over 35 years, Faith was a dedicated employee at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. She truly enjoyed her work and the many friendships she formed there.
Faith was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents; and all of her siblings: Hank (Faye) Nelson, Catherine (Calvin) Lorentzen, Marguerite (Glen)Nelson, Dora (Paul) Levine, and Tom (Pat) Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her husband's family: parents Joe and Anne Kirsch; sisters-in-law Alice (Tim) Rollins, Loretta (Lloyd) Hartman, Hilda (Roy) Christianson. Betty (Leo) Roche, Rose (Bert) Thompson; and brothers-in-law Jack (Wyone) Kirsch, Joe Kirsch, Tony Kirsch, and John Kirsch. She was further preceded in death by her son Steven Kirsch; grandchildren Erika Kirsch and Joshua Kirsch; and great-grandchildren Kendan and Hayden Kirsch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bob (Marlene) Kirsch, Tim (Julie) Kirsch, Joe (Deb) Kirsch, Susan (Brian) Kaasa, Jim (Sherry) Kirsch, Teresa (Steve) Kirsch, Dan (Leslie) Kirsch, Sam (Jamie) Kirsch, Amy (Jason) Kirsch, and Chris (Stacy) Kirsch. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah Kitzmann, Rochelle Kirsch, Brandon Kirsch, Tyler Meyers, Katie Kirsch, Kristie Kirsch, Jessica Geary, Jake Kirsch, Tommy Kirsch, Carrie Kirsch, Steven Butler, Heather Butler, Kelly Talamantes, Ryan Kirsch, Nikki Kirsch, Sammi Jo McMonagle, Cody Kirsch, Joshua Dahle, Jennifer Mucha, Jill Olson, Michael Olson, Amber Dokken, Adam Kirsch, Lindsey Ringoen, Perry Kirsch, Ashly Kirsch, Aaron Kirsch, and Zack Kirsch, as well as many great-grandchildren and a growing number of great-great-grandchildren as well as two sister-in-laws Dorothy Kirsch and Genevieve Kirsch and many extended family members.
We are forever grateful for the kind and thoughtful staff at St Croix Hospice. You were truly a blessing for both Faith and her family. A mother's loving legacy will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything, Mom.
