Florence E. Holmquist

Florence E. Holmquist was born September 5, 1913, to Gust and Grica Halvorson Swanson in Minneapolis. She married George Barnett, Sr. The couple lived in Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Wyoming before moving to Austin in 1951. George preceded her in death. Florence was later married to Carl A. Holmquist. The couple lived in northern Minnesota before returning to Austin. Carl died in 1978. Florence enjoyed reading, crocheting, latch hooking, and especially spending time with her dog and cat. Survivors include her son, William G. and his wife, Lauretta Barnett of Austin; grandchildren: Bradley Lynn Barnett, Gina Barnett, Terry Barnett, Brian Lisa Barnett, and Jay Jane Barnett; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and step daughter, Carol Baumgartner. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George, Sr. and Carl; sons, Clarence "Gean" and George, Jr., all of her brothers and sisters; step sons, Bill and Dean Holmquist; and a step grandson.
