Frances passed away on January 17, 2026 at her apartment in Wells, MN. Frances was 94 years old.

A celebration of life for Frances will be held on Aprill 11, 2026 from 1-4pm at the Nasinec Event Center, located at 789 Business Park Drive in Wells, MN.

Frances was born on June 10, 1931 at her home on a farm near Woodstock, MN, the daughter of Siegfried and Cecelia Hansen. She was one of twelve siblings. Frances grew up and attended the country school in Woodstock, MN.

On October 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Leslie Wittrock at the St. James Lutheran Church of Woodstock, MN. They made their home in Pipestone, MN.

In 1960, Leslie and Frances moved to rural Myrtle, MN. Leslie opened the Myrtle Locker Plant and Frances was a homemaker. She was an incredible cook and baker, and a gifted artist. Frances loved entering her favorite recipes and her artistic designs as well into the local fairs. She won several ribbons and awards and was interviewed by the Albert Lea Tribune. A story was published on July 21, 1987 in the Albert Lea Tribune about Frances and her years of entering her baked goods and art in the local fairs.

Frances is survived by her two daughters Rhonda Dietrich and Julie Martinez; her son Allan and his wife Heather Wittrock all from Wells, MN. Her grandchildren Derek and Finn Martinez of Stolzenau, Lower Saxony, Germany, Kaleigh and Ryan Baker of Rogers, MN, Ryan and Kristen Martinez of Middletown, New Jersey, Tannis Wittrock, Camerin and Holly Wittrock, Caleb Wittrock, Jayna Wittrock, Kadrian Wittrock, and Lanaya Wittrock all from Wells, MN, and Tiffany Krominga of Florida. Her Great-Grandchildren Nyssa, Harper, and Jaxon Baker of Rogers, MN, Vincent, Callan, and Bjorn Wittrock of Wells, MN. Brothers Walter Hansen of Preston, MN, Eugene, Ronald, and Bernard Hansen all from Colorado. Her sisters Barb Workman of West Virginia and Sharon Swenson of Minnesota.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of many years Leslie Wittrock, and is reunited with him once again. Her parents Siegfried and Cecelia Hansen. Brothers Richard, Harvey, Raymond, and Leon Hansen; along with her sister Viola.

Honorary pall bearers were Derek Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Ryan Baker, Tanis Wittrock, Camerin Wittrock, and Caleb Wittrock.
