Frieda Mae Elliott

Frieda Mae Elliott, age 86, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 11AM with visitation to be held for an hour prior to the service.

Frieda Mae (Ensz) Elliott was born on August 27, 1938 in Northwest Township in Kidder County, North Dakota. She grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated from Bismarck High School. After high school, she worked briefly as a secretary before meeting the love of her life, Bill Elliott. Bill and Frieda were united in marriage on February 28, 1959. From this union two children were born. The family made their home in Moorhead, MN before moving to Saint Cloud, then to Washburn, ND. In 1964, they moved to Albert Lea for Bill's job at KATE Radio. Frieda devoted her time and energy to her children when they were growing up, serving as a Girl Scout leader, volunteering for school parties and fundraisers, and rarely missing a band concert or sporting event. Frieda sold Avon while the kids were young, then worked as a personal banker for U.S. Bank until she retired. Frieda lived in Albert Lea until the time of her death.

Frieda was a member of the United Methodist Church and often volunteered with the Women’s group. She and Bill were active participants at the Elks lodge for many years. She also served as an election judge and worked for the Freeborn County Fair as a ticket and money counter. Most of all Frieda loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William “Bill” Elliott; daughter, Kimberley (Lyndon) Andersen; son, Scott (Kristine) Elliott; 5 grandchildren, Marshal (Sarah) Andersen, Brody (Rachel) Andersen, Brian (Abby) Elliott, Dane (Emma) Andersen, Brianna (Eric) Gustafson; Great-Grandchildren, Miles, Rory, Juniper, Hope, Elwood, Lydia and one on the way.
