G. Wilford Olson

G. Wilford Olson was born September 19, 1917, to August and Bertha Schneider Olson in Mansfield Township. He graduated from Kiester High School in 1935. On June 12, 1940, Wilford was united in marriage to Ruby Doppelhammer at the Bear Lake Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County, a member of the Mansfield Lutheran Church his entire life, and a dedicated farmer. Survivors include his wife, Ruby of the Albert Lea Good Samaritan; children: David Judy Olson of Munising, MI, Elaine Douglas Nelson of Emmons, Daryl Olson of Bayport, MN, Kathryn Ron Rudebeck of Waverly, IA, and Bryan Beth Olson of Mankato; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Wilford was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Olson; sister, Gertrude Doppelhammer; and a grandson in infancy.
