George Kleinschrodt was born February 9, 1911 in Kiester to John and Mary Lohner Kleinschrodt. He attended a country school. After school George was a farmer and worked at Weyerhaeuser and did wood-working, which he enjoyed. George was united in marriage with Gerda Sorensen on September 27, 1937 in Northwood, IA. The couple then lived in Iowa and later moved to a farm south of Albert Lea. In 1946 they moved to a farm 3 miles east of Emmons and in the mid 1960's the couple moved to Albert Lea. George was a member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Gerda; children, Phyllis Rusley, Gail Glenn Hardin, Dwight Linette Kleinschrodt, Paul Sue Kleinschrodt, and Nancy Ginter, 13 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Larsen and Frieda Jensen; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kleinschrodt, Rhyna Berger and Agnes Dale Berger. George was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Kleinschrodt; daughter-in-law, Hazel Kleinschrodt; sons-in-law, Robert Rusley and Robert Ginter; brothers, Fred, Jack, Harold and Herman; sisters, Anna Fink, Rose Sorensen, and Emma Katzung; sisters-in-law, Betty Schwemmler and Hazel Sorensen; brothers-in-law, Harry Larsen, Mert Jensen, Eldo Schwemmler, Iver Sorensen and Richard Berger; grandson, Kary Kleinschrodt; and step-grandson, Chester Watters.
