Gloria V. Grinolds

June 8, 1928 — September 10, 2004

Gloria Verdel Grinolds was born on June 8, 1928 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Meyers Swenson. She was a lifelong resident of Albert Lea, and a 1946 graduate of Albert Lea High School. On June 27, 1948, Gloria was united in marriage to Everett C. Grinolds at First Lutheran Church. She worked at various jobs including Stevenson's Music, Buttreys, the Rivoli Theater, and the Big Four Bottling Company. Gloria also worked as a bookkeeper for the United Fund. She was very interested in antiques. She and her husband traveled to many antique shows and conventions, both before and after their retirement. Gloria was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was active in various groups. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the DOES, the Eagles, and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband Everett of Albert Lea, children Randa and her husband Jim Simpson of Fairmont, and Charles E. Grinolds of Albert Lea; grandchildren Jeff Simpson of Chaska and Jennifer Simpson of Fairmont, sister-in-law Marvelyn Grinolds of Albert Lea; and nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
