Gloris Lillian Frantum, 99, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Woodlands in St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea, Minnesota. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral home in Albert Lea. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Chaplain Wendy Browne will be officiating.

Gloris was born on May 6,1926, to William and Bertina (Sibilrud) Olson on the family farm in Hartland, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. Gloris attended Hartland School District 62, and graduated from Freeborn High School. On March 9, 1945, she married Clifford Frantum in Alden, Minnesota and was a resident of Alden for over 70 years before moving to the Woodlands in 2018. In addition to being a homemaker, Gloris was a waitress, worked in a defense plant, and was co-owner of Frantum Sanitation in Alden.

Gloris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alden and the Rachel Circle. She also was a den mother for the local cub scout troop in Alden and a member of the Grapevine Twist. She was an avid solver of crossword and sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards games such as Whist, 500, Solitaire and taught all her grandchildren how to play “Kings in the Corner”. Other hobbies she enjoyed were dancing, cooking, and sewing. But most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and especially with her grandkids.

Gloris is survived by her daughters Cheryl Reynolds, Pamela (James) McKenna, and Janice (Larry) King, grandchildren, Mark Reynolds, Nan (Jeffrey) Hanegraaf, Barry Hand, Erik Jacobsen, Travis (Marissa) Jacobsen and Adam (Kacie) King; great-grandchildren, Christian (Kashina Danielson) Frantum, Hannah (Dylan) Kilpatrick, Aiden (Ella Clevenger) Jacobsen, Madison (Chaske Henry) Hand, Holtan Shumski, Zona Hand, Waylon Jacobsen, Brooks King, Stetson Jacobsen, Hadley King, Emerson Jacobsen and Viviene King ; great-great grandchildren, Migizi Danielson, Kate Frantum, Waaseya Frantum, Animikii Frantum, and Icahpe Hu Henry ; sister-in-law, Millie (Clifford) Olson; and many nieces and nephews.

Gloris is preceded in death by her husband Clifford, son Mark Frantum; son-in-law David Reynolds; parents William and Bertina; brothers and sisters Blanche (Nels) Edwin, Wilbur, Berdelle (Irvin) Sutlief, George (Beverly), Clifford, Wilma (Roger) Bindewald, and Bonnie (Vern) Bergeson; mother and father-in-law Ray and Amanda Frantum, sisters and brother-in-law Luella (Leo) Hagemann, Kenneth (Marge) Frantum and Phyllis (Merle) Martinson.

The family expresses great appreciation to all the caregivers at St. John’s and at St. Croix Hospice. Gloris truly enjoyed the care and friendship she had with everyone at St. John’s – an extended family! The family would prefer any memorials may be directed to the Activities Fund at St. John’s or to St. Croix Hospice.
