Greg Allen Cameron

Greg Cameron, age 70, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, August 4 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Greg was born on August 3, 1954, in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Richard and Barbara (Hoium) Cameron. He grew up in Texas and Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School and continued his schooling to become an accountant. On June 22, 1974, he was united in marriage to Shellie Leidal. To this union two children were born, Heather and Travis. He worked for many years for Canteen/Hermels and later worked for Ventura foods until he retired in 2022. Greg continued to live in Albert Lea until the time of his death.

In his free time, Greg enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo and crossword puzzles. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Heather (Bri) Godtland; son, Travis (Heather) Cameron; sisters, Shari Sipple, Dawn Brotherton; grandchildren, Haley Cameron, Travis Cameron Jr., Trista Cameron, Andrew Godtland; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jemma, Jeziah, JayVani; nephew, Cody (Ali) Gudgeon; uncles, Richard Hoium, Roger Hoium, Ronnie Hoium; nieces, Kari (Joel) Sween, Taylor Hemminway.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Hampton, grandparents; nephews, Jeremy Hampton, Micheal Brotherton; uncles, Jim Cameron, George Cameron, Lloyd Cameron; aunt, Betty Hoium.
