Harold M. Engebreston

February 21, 1924 — November 24, 2004

Harold Monroe Engebretson was born February 21, 1924, to Severt and Ruth Engebretson in Sacred Heart, MN. He graduated from Willow River High School in Willow River, MN. Harold served as a sheet metal worker in the United States Army Air Force during WWII from 1942 - 1945, achieving the rank of Staff Sgt. On February 14, 1947, he was united in marriage to Anne Reynen in Hollandale. Harold farmed in the Myrtle area for 9 years before owning and operating The Plumbing/Heating Business in Hartland. The couple moved to the Twin Cities in 1965 where they worked together in advertising sales until his retirement. Harold and Anne returned to Albert Lea in 1998. Harold enjoyed woodworking and was a very skilled craftsman, making many clocks and chests. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Anne of Albert Lea; daughter, Cindy and her husband, Calvin Belshan of rural Glenville; grandchildren: Holley and her husband, Reid Bermel of Des Moines, Neil Belshan of Bryant, SD and his fiancee, Jessica Schneider of Lamberton, MN, and Daryl Belshan of Glenville; brother, Roy Engebretson of Minneapolis; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Engebretson; brother, Reuben Engebretson; sister-in-law, Lorraine Engebretson; and brothers-in-law, Clement Emery and Manford Peterson.
