Howard Truman Thompson

March 15, 1911 — January 28, 2005

Howard Truman Thompson was born March 15, 1911, to Herbert and Ida Hoverson Thompson in Bancroft Township. He had lived most of his life in Freeborn County. On June 13, 1937, Howard was united in marriage to Bernice Monson at the Central Freeborn Lutheran Church Parsonage. He was a farmer and had also been employed at Queen Products. Howard had been a member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church before joining First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything and renovated many homes in Albert Lea. Howard was always ready to help anyone. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Albert Lea; children: Eleanor and her husband, Don Sorensen of Albert Lea, Clayton and his wife, Kari Thompson of Escondido, CA, Virginia Ginny and her husband, Chet Ackland of Albert Lea, Janet and her husband, Dick Nelson of St. Paul, and Kathleen Kathy and her husband, Ken Davis of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters: Grace Arneson of Albert Lea, Harriet Broskoff of Albert Lea, and Elaine Erickson of Minneapolis; brothers: Paul and his wife Mary Thompson of Albert Lea, David and his wife, Marlene Thompson of Hayward, Palmer and his wife, Marjorie Thompson of Albert Lea, and Earl and his wife, Bev Thompson of Clarks Grove; and sister-in-law, Helen Thompson of Albert Lea. Howard was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett and Wallace; sisters, Dorothy Jerdee and Carol Bottleson; and great-grandson, Jacob Quam.
