Janet Marie Linnes passed away on May 17, 2024 at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, Minnesota. She was 60 years old. A funeral service will be held on May 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea. Pastor Mauricio Dell’Arciprete will be officiating. There will be a celebration of life in Rochester on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at Broadway Pizza. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.
Janet was born on June 9, 1963 to Adrian Auslund and Patricia Louise (Rustand) Linnes in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in June 1981. After high school, she moved to Rochester and attended Rochester Community Technical College where she earned a degree in Hotel/Motel Management.
Janet was employed at Mayo Clinic. She was a caregiver who lived for helping others. She was the first to volunteer whenever someone was in need. Janet was there for all the important and little things. Everyone got a birthday card in the mail. Her nails were always immaculate. She will be remembered for her devotion and unwavering faith in the Vikings. She loved the movies, but especially, Patrick Swayze. Janet loved to play games, cards, and visit the casino. She was the best travel companion and went on trips with everyone.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents Adrian and Pat Linnes and her brother-in-law Robert Smith.
She is survived by her sister, Jean (Robert) Smith, their children, Sarah (Joshua) Parks, Katie (Paul) Troe, Daniel (Amanda Johnson) Smith, and Joe (Jennie Robbins) Smith; sister, Lois (Tim) Irvin, their children, Kelly (Tony) Richtarich, T. Matthew (Tarra) Irvin; brother, Paul (Debra) Linnes, their children, Jacquelyn (Mauricio) Dell’Arciprete, Michael (Jacqueline) Linnes, Laura (David) Cosio; sister, Julie (Todd) Sternhagen, their children, Angela (Joshua) Barker, Jeffrey (Tamika Rainwater) Zoller, Mark (Chelsey) Zoller; 42 great-nieces and nephews; and her close friend and caregiver Shari Hatten.
