Janice Carol Grodahl

Janice Carol Grodahl, age 85, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society, following complications from a stroke. Janice was born on March 17, 1941 to Wesley and Dorothy Burglund, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Janice moved to Albert Lea in the spring of 1989 to be closer to her daughter’s family.

Janice’s legacy is rooted in faith and music. She sang in many choirs throughout her life and loved Jesus deeply. Her family was by far the most important thing in her life. She leaves behind her daughter Carrie (Jim) Troe, Robert Jr. (Barbara) Grodahl, and Todd Grodahl. Her grandchildren Aaron (Kayla) Troe, Emily (Phauly) Djrouko, Caleb (Breanna) Troe, Madelyn Grodahl, and Elijah Troe. Great grandchildren Oria Djrouko, Margot Troe, Jamie Troe, and baby Djrouko due any day.

Though her voice went quiet over the years, we know she is with Jesus, singing her heart out with her parents Wesley and Dorothy Burglund, sister, Kathryn Young, brother-in-law David Young, and sister-in-law Teri Burglund.

We are filled with sadness at her loss but joyful in knowing she is singing in a wonderful heavenly choir. A private family service is planned.
