Jeannie Jo Hanson, 72, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 after a short, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A potluck will be held on November 15 in Rudd, Iowa with more details to be determined. Also, a memorial service will be held in Albert Lea at a later date as well.

She lived a life full of dedication and profound love to her husband Mark Hanson, and to her cherished children and grandchildren. She was the most caring, loving, non-judgmental person on this earth. Born in 1953 to Rosemary and Donald Allen Sr, she was the youngest daughter of seven children. She was devoted to 30 years as Mrs. Gerrys, and still found time to sacrifice for anyone in need. An avid thrifter, she could find or make anything. When the family didn’t have any money, she figured it out. Every birthday, she always found the time for homemade fried tacos, and loved St. Patrick’s day, and especially Halloween. She always found the time to make everyone happy, and would give you the shirt off her back if needed. She enjoyed making rice krispy baskets for the kids as Easter.

Finding the love of her life in 1991, Mark and Jeannie had been together as loving partners for decades. She showed her kids what a loving, kind, unforgettable relationship of just pure love was about-something her children will carry on with them. She loved to just get in the car, and go. The destination didn’t matter, and if you got in the car, you were along for the ride.

Jeannie is survived by her husband Mark Hanson; children Sarah Walkner and Fiona Walkner. Grandchildren Piper Ward, Jacob Myhre, Calvin Myhre, and Tobias Ward. Sisters Susan Flores, Bonnie Rosa and Linda (Jim) Dodson; brothers James (Linda) Allen, Don (Joyce) Allen and Martin (Shelly) Allen.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her father Donald Allen Sr.
