Judy Zoller

Judy Zoller, age 78, passed away on August 11, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 16 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home. Chaplain Don Malinsky will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, August 15 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service on Saturday.

Judith (Judy) Elaine Zoller was born July 6, 1947, to Harold and Bernice Tolbers (Dusbabek) at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. She grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1965. After high school, she attended business school in Mankato. She then moved to the Twin Cities and Married Robert A. Mereness and they had 2 children. The couple later divorced, and Judy returned to Albert Lea. On October 27, 1984, Judy was united in marriage to Richard Zoller. They made their home in Albert Lea. Judy began working as a financial aide worker for Freeborn County, where she worked for 27 years before retiring. She continued to live in Albert Lea until the time of her death.

In her free time, Judy enjoyed playing cards, going out with her girlfriends, bowling, scrapbooking and crafting, watching her “shows”, and camping and boating. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard; children, Amy Fischer, Christine (Greg) Nielsen, Shawn Zoller; grandchildren, Joey (Trish) Fischer, Dylan Fischer, Zoe Zoller, Cole Zoller, Codi Zoller, Nicholas Sunding, Brittany Steen, Freya Nielsen and one great-grand child on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bernice Tolbers (Dusbabek); son, Robert J. Mereness; brothers, Barry Tolbers, Allen Tolbers.
