Memorial services for Karen L. Springborg, age 67, of Owatonna, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Karen died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Karen LaRaye Springborg was born on December 27, 1949 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Arthur and Lois (Sherburne) Mills, Sr. On July 2, 1973, Karen married Richard Springborg in South Dakota.  She worked at Nelson’s for 15 years.  Karen enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She particularly loved visiting State Parks.

Karen is survived by her children, Justin (Sarah) Rule-Springborg of Elk River, MN and Scott (Nicki) Springborg of Owatonna; grandchildren, Ariana Springborg and Garrett Springborg; brothers, Arthur Mills, Jr. and Mike Mills; sister-in-law, Nila Mills; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 37 years Richard, and brother Perry Mills.
