Lavon Rosalie Babb (Wynia), 90, passed away peacefully in Austin, January 12, 2026. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 2PM.

Lavon was born April 4, 1935 at the Albert Lea Naeve Hospital to Fredrick and Rosella (Harpel) Wynia. She grew up in rural Hollandale and graduated from Albert Lea High School.

November 13, 1954 she married Arnold Babb in Northwood, Iowa. They had five children. They moved to Arizona in the early 70s, ultimately settling in Parker.

She worked in the bookkeeping field. She worked various jobs before settling as the bookkeeper at the Parker Valley Gin. Duties also included being a deputy public weighmaster, weighing cotton seed trailers and performing various other functions required. They left Parker in 1989, moving to Clarks Grove, MN.

After moving to Minnesota, she worked several jobs around the area until she ultimately joined Pederson Industrial Sales until her retirement.

Her life was rich with travel, having been to many parts of this great country and many states west of the Mississippi River. Seeing sights such as Death Valley, Roy Rogers Museum in Apple Valley, California, and multiple other states. She read many books throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Dennis and Noel, numerous aunts and uncles; her grandson, Corey Babb; daughter-in-law, Joy; her son, Jimmie; and her husband, Arnold.

She is survived by four of her children: Billey, Albert Lea; Brenda Carver, Caldwell, ID; Barbara, Hollandale; and Fred (Charo), Sevelle, Spain. Grandchildren Brandy, Heather, Kristina, and Veronyca and many great grandchildren and her niece, Denise, Colorado.

She loved her dogs and her Yorkie, Sunny Boy survives her. Many other dogs were waiting to greet her Monday.
