Leo Leslie Long

January 3, 1946 — May 20, 2005

Leo Leslie Long was born January 3, 1946, to George Clifford and Ruth Irene Snyder Long in Minneapolis. The family moved to Albert Lea December 7, 1947. Leo attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. He also attended numerous IBM classes during the 32½ years he was employed as a programmer/analyst for Streater, Inc., and also worked at St. John's Nursing Home for the past three years. Leo enjoyed being involved with bowling leagues here in Albert Lea, as well as in Minneapolis. He served as secretary/treasurer for over 30 years and was also involved in the Junior Bowling League. Leo had been a very active volunteer at St. John's and was a past member of the Moose Club and the Elks. Survivors include his sisters: Bonnie and her husband Norm Anderson of Albert Lea, Roberta and her husband Howard Germanson of Brainerd, and Nancy and her husband, Darryll Berg of Orange, CA; brothers: Glenn Long of Minneapolis, David and his wife, Elaine Long of Albert Lea, and Dennis Long and Mary Malherek of Blooming Prairie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Mary Lou Long. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
