Lois "Arlene" Jensen

Lois “Arlene” Jensen, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 29 2025 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28 at the funeral home, along with an hour prior to the service. Chaplain Wendy Browne will be officiating.

Arlene was born on July 29, 1944 to Irvin and Lois Peterson in Battle Creek, Michigan. Their family moved to Blooming Prairie, and she graduated from school there. She married James A. Jensen, and together they had two children, Tamera and Brent. She worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea as a Laundry Assistant. Arlene also taught Sunday and Bible School, along with being a Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Arlene loved to garden, read, and do word search puzzles. She enjoyed playing Bunco, and for her grandchildren, she made the best grilled cheese sandwiches around. She enjoyed getting together with family and having coffee with friends.

Arlene is survived in death by her children, Tamera (Steven) Wencl and Brent (Julie) Jensen. Grandchildren, Cole (Sara) Tlamka, Brandon “Chunkers” Tlamka, Garrett (Taylor) Wencl, Jenna (Elijah) Riggle, Jessica (Cade) Christensen, and Stephanie (Matthew) McGary. Great-Grandchildren, Haidyn, Huntley, Ferris, Dominic, Henryk, Waylon, Liam, Samuel, Haisley, and Aron; along with many nieces and nephews.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James; parents, Irvin and Lois; siblings, Teddie Peterson, Linda (Richard) Hueman, and Alvin “Butchie” Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
