Lois E. Hansel

Funeral services for Lois E. Hansel, age 75, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at First Lutheran Church.  Pastor Jan Crissinger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

 

Lois Elaine Hansel (Johnson) died on Monday, January 20, 2020 at her home in Albert Lea.

 

Lois was born on July 23, 1944 to Harold and Irene Johnson (Egeness) in Frost, MN. She attended school in Frost and grew up on a farm one mile northeast of town. She was a member at First Lutheran Church. On September 25, 1965, Lois married Dennis Hansel at Dell Lutheran Church in Dell, MN. Together they had two children. She loved to travel with Dennis and together they went on many cruises to different countries.  Lois also enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining family and friends, playing on her iPad and watching TV. She was willing to help anyone in need.

 

Lois is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughters, Theresa Anderson, and Lisa (Daren) Meier; grandchildren, Cody Anderson, Anna Anderson, Jaci Meier, and Lauren Meier; brothers, Terry Johnson, and Richard (Corinne) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Roland and Mildred Hansel; stillborn grandson, Jake Anderson; brother, Harlan Johnson, and two other brothers in infancy; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Johnson.

Our sincerest symphathy to you all in the loss of Lois. We will miss her special 4th of July parties, so many memories like the BBQ in the rain and the tornado watch!! Always fun to be with her! I hope you all know how very proud she was of all of her family. She will be missed by all the Cruisers.

Sorry to hear this Dennis, Theresa and Lisa. Too many memories to count. She took me to the doctor the day Alicia was born 38 years ago! Always was there for me and the kids, as were Theresa andLisa my first babysitters. Made the best apple crisp! And who can forget the flashing incident on your back deck. So many good times. Thoughts are with you all. Ann
