Lorraine Ann Lenze

Lorraine Ann Lenze, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Oak Park Place Assisted Living Facility in Albert Lea, MN.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1pm at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea. Pastor Don Malinsky will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Bayview.  

Lorraine was born on November 16, 1944, to Robert and Helen Helmers in Blue Earth, MN.  After graduating from high school, she met the love of her life, Marvin Lenze and the two were married on December 14, 1963, in Hollandale, MN.  Together, with their daughter Dawn, they enjoyed traveling.  They visited many destinations including Jamaica, Florida, and twice to Hawaii.

When they weren’t traveling, Lorraine helped to run Marvin’s motorcycle shop, Marv’s Cycles, in town. Lorraine was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a volunteer and board member with Aspire. She was always known for her classy dress, and hosting parties, where she would make the most delicious entrees.  Known to be an avid gardener, Lorraine would create beautiful flower arrangements from the flowers she raised. She enjoyed writing poetry and was a talented seamstress.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Marvin; daughter Dawn; sisters Joyce (Chris) Keifer, Darla (Jeff) Chavez, Jane Marie, Aradine Lawson and LaVonne Betsinger; brother Bob (Sheila) Helmers; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Helen, mother-in-law Zella Lenze; brothers Darle, Gordon, Dennis, Art and Ronald.
