Services to honor Lowell’s life will be held at Bayview Funeral Home in Albert Lea, with visitation on Saturday Sept 20th from 5-7pm and from 2-3pm on Sunday September 21st. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Sunday. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.
He was born on May 20, 1946, to Warren and Elgy (Schultz) Wulff in Albert Lea. He was the older brother of Larry and Peg (Pechacek). He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1964, and attended Northwestern School of Chiropractic, and later Mankato State University.
On August 7, 1966, he married Paulette Shelander in Forest Lake, MN.
Lowell was a modern-day jack of all trades. He was a chiropractor, later becoming a deputy sheriff and a businessman, before following his dream of becoming a teacher and a coach in several different towns. He was especially proud of the teams and players he coached in football and basketball. In his spare time, Lowell loved sharing his hobbies of fishing, racing, and playing cards with anyone willing, and spending time with his growing family. He enjoyed cross-stitch, and made amazing cross-stitched blankets for all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also fondly recalled his time spent with the Card Party group. Lowell loved nothing more than to hold a sleeping baby and would often be the first in line to take the napping baby and proceed to share that nap with that baby.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Paulette, brother Larry (Elaine) Wulff of Albert Lea. His children Michelle Mortensen (Kurt) of Albert Lea, Chad (Meghan) of Bemidji, Kari of Kiester, and Brett (Samantha) of Hartford, SD, Sisters in-law Rita (Greg) Blaeser, and Linda Conley, cousins Tim (Andrea) Wulff, and Dan (Wendy) Wulff. He loved his grandchildren Conrad, Spencer, Jacklyn, Brannigan, Alicen, Alex, Clare, Ella and Hayden, great grandchildren Waverly and Avayah, and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Warren and Elgy, sister Peggy Pechacek, and brothers-in-law Noel Pechacek and Mike Conley.
