Lyle Shaunce

Lyle Shaunce passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 10, 2025 in Albert Lea surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 11AM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 with visitation to be held for an hour prior. Reverend Leandra Anderson will be officiating. Burial will be at Geneva Cemetery.

Lyle was born on January 22, 1952, to Archie and Inez Shaunce of Geneva, MN. He was the youngest of the “Shaunce Boys” with the softest heart. Lyle loved golfing with his brother, playing cribbage with his friends and soaking up the sun. In his younger days, he was a trophy winning pool player and ball player. Every spring and summer, he enjoyed relaxing at the Hope Oak Knoll Campground and spent several winters relaxing in Arizona. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In November Lyle proudly celebrated 40 years of sobriety.

Lyle is survived by his children, Stacy Shaunce, Amy (Jeff) Curley, Melissa (Chris) Olson; grandchildren, Preston, Alexis, Caitlyn, Cole, Clayton; siblings, Lester (Diane) Shaunce, Roger (Bonnie) Shaunce; many nieces and nephews.

He preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald.

Any memorial funds will be put towards a gravestone monument for Lyle.
