Marilyn Faye Cuden

Marilyn F. (Flim) Cuden, age 88, of New Richland passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11AM at Bayview Freeborn/Funeral Home, Albert Lea. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Clarks Grove Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Don Rose will be officiating.

Marilyn was born on April 24, 1937, the daughter of Harry F. and Mary E. (Nelson) Hanson, in Albert Lea. She attended country school in District #5 and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1955. On July 26, 1956, she married Helge Flim of Hollandale, at the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. He passed away on October 24, 1980.

Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. For many years she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was a Junior High Teacher and Senior High Advisor at the church. She also served on the Board of Trustees and Financial Boards of the church.

Marilyn worked at the State Bank of Clarks Grove, Fountain Centers for 10 years and for Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home until her retirement in 1999. On July 1, 1994, she married Frank T. Cuden at the First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove.

Marilyn enjoyed working with flowers, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and working with polymer clay. She made many types of jewelry and floral pieces. One of her greatest joys was making Polymer Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Julie (Jeff) Cornelius and Barbara (Spencer) Kubat; son, Robert (Geraldine) Flim; grandchildren, Sara (Rob) Routh, Lindsay (Nathan) Schlaak, Jessica (Jay) Eidem, Mitchell (Rachel) Kubat, Christopher Flim, and Peter Flim; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ryan, Henry, Will, and Alara; step-daughters, Brook Cuden and her daughter Anne Rose, Joey Miller and her children, Elliot, Celia, Alex, and Evan; step-son, Frank (Becca) Cuden and their children Ruby and Madeline; sister, Marvel Bieser; brother David (LeAnn) Hanson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Hanson; first husband, Helge Flim; daughter, Marcia Flim; second husband, Frank Cuden; sister, Ardis Sundwall; and brothers-in-law, Norman Sundwall, Henry Draayer, and William Bieser.
