Funeral services for Marion A. Follmuth, age 92, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Marion died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids.
Marion A. Follmuth was born January 11, 1925 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Edward and Margarette Cragg. She graduated from Humboldt High School in Humboldt, Iowa and went on to attend St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Marion was a Registered Nurse at Naeve Hospital and Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea. On July 25, 1949, Marion married Berton Follmuth at St. Theodore Catholic Church, where they were members. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially her annual leaf jumping in the fall. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s many sporting events, dance recitals, music concerts, and graduations. Marion loved wintering in Florida with family.
Marion is survived by her children, Paul (Cindy) Follmuth, Mary (John) Tenold, Pamela (Scott) Tovar, Patricia Crane, Michael Follmuth, and Peter (Mary Jo) Follmuth; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lyle (Shirley) Sorensen and Jens Sorensen, Jr.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents; husband, Berton; sons, Gregory and James; infant grandson, Matthew; infant brother, Russel; brothers, Gene and John Sorensen; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Linda, and Madelyn Sorensen; daughter-in-law, Janice Follmuth; and son-in-law, Richard Crane.
