Marlis Kay Thompson

Marlis Kay Thompson passed away on March 18, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1951, Austin, Minnesota to Janice (Maxfield) Hoy.

She grew up in the Austin area and attended school there as well. She married Ronnie Thompson on December 23, 1980. Together, they prioritized love and acceptance, and passed those qualities on to their family.

Marlis worked odd jobs throughout the years; Good Samaritan Society and Clothing Care Center, but ultimately settled on being a homemaker. She loved spending time with friends, casual lunches and playing bingo. She also was a bit of a homebody, and really enjoyed watching her shows and cooking…occasionally.

Marlis is survived by son-in-law Ron Egge; grandchildren: Fred (Kristen) Allen, Brianna (Cody) Smith, Lauren (Brandon) Tester, Lyndsey Egge; great grandchildren: Lane and Jameson, Colton and Maelyn, Sebastian and Caspian, Lakelyn and Ellorie; and by many other loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 42 years, Ronnie, and her daughter Dawn Egge, as well as many other loved ones.

At Marlis's request, there will be no funeral.
