Michael Roberts

Michael Todd Roberts, known as Mike, was born on October 31, 1960, and passed away on February 20, 2025.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on at 3:30pm on Friday, July 18 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN.  A visitation will be held from 3-3:30pm on the day of the service.  Pastor Don Malinsky will be officiating.

He was the fifth child of Richard and Mavis Roberts. Mike was a long-term employee of Cargill Incorporated, until late October of 2024.

Mike attended High School in Ellendale, Minnesota, where his reserved nature and observant personality began to take shape. He was a kind and supportive family member. His rural lifestyle was filled with hobbies that brought him joy, notably attending auctions, shopping, gardening, and tinkering on the farm.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Julie Roberts-Piper of Minneapolis, Marcia DeVriendt (Greg Clough) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bruce Roberts of Ellendale, and Kim Roberts (Richard Roy) of Menomonie, Wisconsin. Mike was single and never married, but appreciated being an uncle to ten nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Mavis Roberts, as well as his older sister, Trudy Roberts. He will also be remembered alongside his uncles: Donald, Milton, and LaVerne Roberts, Ernie Christenson, and Gerald Simon, as well as Aunts Harriet Christenson and Karen Roberts, and first cousin Janet Goodmanson.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
