Mitchell Jones

Mitchell R. Jones, 33, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at his home in Bowling Green, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN. A second Celebration will be held in the basement of the American Legion in Le Center, Minnesota on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 1-4pm.

Mitchell was born on April 21, 1992 to Randy and Patty Jones in Albert Lea, MN. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2010. Mitchell was the captain of the boys swim team during highschool. He rose to the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well. After highschool, he eventually moved to Bowling Green, Ohio, and became a chef for a local nursing home.

He was an accomplished Rubik cube solver, competing in many tournaments. He also enjoyed cooking and baking (his favorite spice was dill) for his friends and others. If you had a special request, he would figure out how to make it. His specialty was cookies, with peanut butter being his favorite. In his younger years he was fond of his yearly trips with his Grandfather to the Pioneer Power Show.

Mitchell is survived by his parents Randy and Patty Jones; sister Rebecca (Kasey Burkel) Jones; his beloved dog Pepper; his nieces Rossie Jones, Jasmine and Kylie Burkel; Grandmother Mayonne Stocker; along with various aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his Grandfather Jerry Stocker; Grandmother Ruth Fulghum; and aunt Nancy Stocker.
