Norris Brian Trae

Norris Brian Trae, age 76, passed away at his home in Owatonna Wednesday, February 25, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 2PM with visitation to be held for an hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Round Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Josh Skogen will be officiating.

Norris was born on October 5, 1949 in Albert Lea to Arnold and Norma (Peterson) Trae. He attended school in Albert Lea until graduating in 1968. He then went on to spend four years at Mankato State College, getting a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1972.

Norris was drafted into military service after college, serving in Ankara, Turkey for 18 months as a personnel management specialist. He was discharged in 1974 and went to Mankato Vocational School to study computer operating. Upon getting his certification, he began working at Jostens in Owatonna where he was employed until his retirement.

He was an officer at Our Saviors Lutheran Church for a number of years.

Norris is survived by his brother Arlin Trae, Albert Lea; sister Donna White, Albert Lea; nieces Jessi White, Kirkland, WA and Kristi (Mike Schipper) White, Albert Lea; nephews Brian (Amy) White, Albert Lea and Sean (Kim) White, Redmond, WA.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Norma Trae, and brother-in-law Richard White.
