Orville “Bud” Allen Stevens was born on May 6, 1936 to Anton and Florence Bedney in Claremont, MN. He and his sisters Evelyn and Audrey became a blended family when Florence married Fay Stevens of Albert Lea, MN. Bud then changed his last name from Bedney to Stevens. Following graduation from high school in Albert Lea, Bud enlisted in the Army serving two of his six years in Korea. He married Barbara Burdine and they had two sons, Mark and Jeff. Bud had a long, successful career in carpentry for Streator’s in Albert Lea. He retired after 43 years.
In his spare time, he continued his carpentry projects by remodeling his home, adding a four-season porch as well as helping Jeff build a shop in Mankato and update a home in Rochester. Bud loved fishing and camping with Mark and Jeff, especially around Crooked Lake in northeastern Minnesota. He was an avid gun collector and especially enjoyed visiting friends at the Eagles in Albert Lea.
He is survived by his son Jeff (Connie) Stevens of Mankato, MN, his daughter-in-law Sherri Stevens of St. Paul Park, MN, his grandsons Codey Wadding and Michael Stevens, his sisters Audrey Hill, Harriet (Gary) Volding, Bonnie (Warren) Nelson, and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Evelyn, and his son Mark.
