RoseMarie E. Coffman

May 26, 1940 — April 24, 2024

Austin

Rose Marie Evelyn (Faltus) Coffman passed away peacefully on April 24th at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin, MN at the age of 83.

She was born to Frank and Evelyn (Brabec) Faltus on May 26th, 1940 in Mason City, IA,

Rose Marie grew up enjoying nature with her family - from waterskiing on Albert Lea and Beaver Lakes to fishing with her father – and was an animal lover (except for those pesky red squirrels). She adored being around people, especially her cousins, and she was a long-time Girl Scout camp counselor. Rose Marie was fond of cooking and music, even taking up professional singing and the french horn at an early age. She will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening, especially throughout her time with the gardening club. She made lasting memories with her close friend, Tammy Lawhead, who was often mistaken as her sister, traveling and spending countless hours talking on the phone.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her father Frank, her mother Evelyn, and her infant sister Donna Rae. She is survived by her two children, Thomas of Forrest City, IA and JoEllen of Duluth, MN

A celebration of life will be held at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2 from noon until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory to The Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
