Scott Edward Fadden

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Scott Edward Fadden. On June 14, 2026, Scott lost his courageous, hard-fought battle with cancer, peacefully entering his eternal home with Jesus. In his final moments, he was enveloped in love, held closely by his most prized and precious possessions: his devoted wife, his beloved children, and his cherished grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 2PM at Grace Christian Church in Albert Lea. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 3-6PM at the church. Reverend George Marin will be officiating.

Scott’s journey began in Minneapolis, where he was born on September 8, 1960, to his proud parents, Mary and Don Fadden. Raised in the heart of the city, his formative years were shaped by his education at St. Bridget’s Elementary School and DeLaSalle High School. It was during these early years that a spark for cooking ignited within him, leading him to pursue his lifelong passion for the culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis. Scott didn’t just cook; he created. He was a true master chef, and anyone who ever had the distinct pleasure of tasting his food knew they were experiencing something magical.

For 45 incredible years, Scott shared his gift through his own catering business and by lending his talents to numerous restaurants. However, his most recent and all-time favorite career chapter served as the corporate chef and operations manager at Martin Bros out of Cedar Falls, Iowa. There, his leadership, creativity, and culinary expertise truly thrived. Scott possessed a legendary, tireless work ethic—a vital trait that he proudly instilled in his children, ensuring his legacy of dedication lives on.

While his career was filled with achievements, Scott’s greatest joy began in September 1990 when he met Sally. The chemistry was undeniable, and they were married just months later on January 12, 1991. Together, they built a life rooted in deep devotion and boundless love. They welcomed their first son, Tony, in September 1991, followed by their second son, Nick, in March 1997. Family was the absolute center of Scott’s universe, and he was the irreplaceable anchor of theirs. He was affectionately known as "Papa," a title he wore with ultimate pride.

Scott was a true Italian through and through. He was fiercely proud of his heritage, which shone brightly not only in his mouth-watering, soul-warming meals, but also in the way he gathered people together. He possessed a quick wit and a sense of humor like no other; Scott simply knew how to make people laugh and could instantly bring infectious joy and laughter into any room he walked into.

Above all, Scott was the definition of a gentleman—generous, kind, humble, and completely selfless. He was a deeply thoughtful man who was always looking for ways to lift others up, whether that meant preparing a feast for loved ones or donating generously to various charities. Remarkably, even during his darkest days of illness, Scott’s character never wavered. He remained completely unconcerned with his own suffering, choosing instead to focus all his worry and care on the well-being of everyone else. To have known Scott was a rare honor and a beautiful gift. His warmth, his laughter, and the flavors of his love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sally Fadden; children, Tony (Jenna) Fadden, and Nick (Erika) Fadden; grandchildren, Daniel, Bella, Liam, Vinny, Jedi, Rylan, and little baby Charlie Kaye coming in August; his 2 constant companions, Lenny and Diggs; mother-in-law, Shirley Hansen; brothers-in-law, Chris (Jacki) Hansen, Rob (Christy) Hansen; sister-in-law, Kayedee (Craig) Rhode; many nieces and nephews; bonus brother, George Marin; bonus daughter, Ashley Broskoff; and cousin, Barb Hill.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Mary Fadden; father-in-law, Tyler Hansen; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family extends their heartfelt thank you to our devoted family and friends and Mayo Hospice, for the incredible care and unwavering support.
