Scott Truesdell was born on July 30, 1958, in St. Paul, MN, to Harold and Marilyn (Auer) Truesdell.
He grew up and attended school in many places, including Hastings MN, Northfield MN, Rapid City South Dakota, Las Vegas, Nevada, Sheridan Wyoming, and finally Albert Lea MN this was because of his parents many businesses including a traveling Pet Zoo. However after his father‘s unexpected passing in 1974, his mother returned the family to Albert Lea. In 1976, Scott met and married Sandi Blegan (Underwood). The couple had four beautiful children, Celina (Shawn) Campagna, Dustin Truesdell, Tiffany (Joe) Stenzel and Ryan Truesdell. They divorced in 1989. In July 2000, he married Diane Borst, however they later divorced also.
As a young adult Scott started his career working for Time Warner Cable in Albert Lea going on to build the entire Southern Minnesota Cable System. He moved on to the safety industry, initially selling personal safety products. Over the decades, his expertise grew and his career naturally transitioned from personal safety into full scale, residential commercial and industrial property protection. He started his own business Total Security of Southern Minnesota. With over 45 years of experience, this accomplishment was something he was very proud of. Scott loved people, and definitely had the gift of gab. He was a hands-on owner and a specialized security consultant who personally handled client projects alongside his team.
As a young adult Scott participated in Albert Lea community theatre. He also loved to BBQ or host a get together with friends and family on the weekends. Scott enjoyed music of all genres and in his free time he loved attending concerts and fishing with friends. He LOVED HIS FRIENDS and had many “long time” friends. He enjoyed playing pool and played on a league on and off over the years. He also enjoyed watching old movies…His favorite was “The Wizard of Oz”…if it was showing…he was watching it! Sugar was definitely a weakness for him, which led to the last 2 months Scott spent most of in and out of the hospital. He was very stubborn and fought until he had no fight left. His daughter by his side the entire time.
He is survived by his children Celina. (Shawn) Campagna, Dustin Truesdell, Tiffany (Joe) Stenzel. His 8 grandchildren Jordan (Kendra) Johnson, Alyssa (Cody) Latusek, Brendan Drescher, Riley (Kendal) Truesdell, Alexis Truesdell and Devin (Mikayla) Truesdell , Mason Stenzel and Olivia Stenzel. His 2 great grandchildren Dezmond and Ruby. His niece Sabrina Truesdell, and nephews BoDean and Micheal Truesdell. Some great niece and nephews and of course his dogs Hazel, Tipper, Mitzi and Gracie.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Harold Truesdell and Marilyn Auer (Schilling); Step-Father Kenny Schilling; grandparents Lucille and Orville Truesdell, and Hugo and Lola Auer. His son Ryan “Pie” Truesdell. His brother Brian Truesdell; cousins Mark Minehart and Barb Reynolds, and many Aunts and Uncles.
The family would like to thank Mayo Health System of Albert Lea, Mankato, Rochester and Austin. Also, Albert Lea Ambulance Service and Clark’s Grove Fire and Rescue. You were all nothing but amazing.
