Shirley Wente

Shirley was born on September 1, 1936 to Ralph and Bertha Petz Briske in Wabasha County. Shirley married Donald Wente on September 5, 1954. The couple made their home in Albert Lea where Shirley worked as a cook for the Stables Supper Club. Later, she was employed by Good Samaritan Center and received her LPN degree. Shirley was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and active in the Lydia circle. She was also a member of the Eagles and Elks clubs. After Donald's death, Shirley moved to Sun City Center, FL and was employed at Homewood Assisted Living as a nurse. Survivors include her children Debra Ronald Vaughan and Doris Wente; granddaughter, Kristin Christopher Garrison; brothers, Glen, Virgil, Lee and Larry Briske; half-sisters, Joyce Chaves and Diane Brevig; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and brother, Albert Briske.
