Tara Jean, our Princess T.T. Seadlund, gained her wings and flew high on Thursday, June 12, 2025 while at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester MN following a powerful fight for 34 years.
She was born on March 11, 1991 at Albert Lea Medical Center Hospital to Chris and Kim Seadlund; joining her big sister Dana. At one week of age, she began an incredible medical journey that would last her entire life. Always puzzling and challenging her doctors’ knowledge while at the same time impressing and amazing all with her fierce strength to overcome numerous medical issues.
Genetics caused her to be unable to speak, but she quickly earned the nickname of Princess because she got what she wanted without saying a word. She attended Halvorsen Elementary School in Albert Lea where she graduated in 2012. Her family is ever grateful for all the awesome teachers and paraprofessionals that she had. Meanwhile, she herself was a teacher by educating her fellow students about kindness and acceptance regardless of how different you were. After her graduation, a Buddy Bench was furnished and placed on the Halvorsen playground to continue her legacy.
Being the social butterfly that she was, Tara thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and numerous friends. She was known for her pontoon driving at the lake, campfire singing and her cozy camper room. At home, she enjoyed walking with help all around the yard, her patio swing and riding the family side by side around the trails on the acreage. She liked to watch PBS and her personalized purple Kindle with all her favorite videos which she took everywhere. She also loved eating at her favorite restaurant Taco King where they served her the “Princess Special” Music was her absolute favorite thing of all. Her eclectic taste ranged from nursery rhymes to Johnny Cash, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, any 50’s music, Dr Hook & Medicine Show to Patsy Cline She jammed almost daily to her personal jukebox aka her mom singing and playing guitar. She sure loved to hit those high notes!
Her smile and giggle were very infectious for anyone encountering her. She was every woman’s envy with those beautiful long eyelashes. She may have been small, but she left a mighty large footprint. If you did not like her, you just had not met her yet. There was something about the girl we all will never forget.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Chris & Kim Seadlund; sister and brother-in-law Dana & Jake Brenhaug along with her nieces, Riann & Lainey Brenhaug; grandparents Roy & Nancy Beighley; aunt Jeri Weiss; aunt and uncle Mickey & John Markham; uncle and aunt Wade & Mona Seadlund; uncle and aunt Rory & Kelly Beighey; all her cousins and their families; and her best friend and mentor Paige Hanna.
Waiting to greet her in heaven are her grandparents Paul & Joyce Seadlund, her cousin Anna Beighley, numerous extended family members and special friends.
Tara will finally be able to walk and talk on her own so fly little sparrow fly!
