Tom Peeso passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea on Tuesday, January 27, 2026; which would have been his 84th birthday. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the service. Father Kurt Farrell will be officiating. A meal will be served at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date in East Farmington, WI.
Tom was born on January 27, 1942 to Thomas and Josephine Peeso in Bridgeport, CT. Tom was a part of the Army Reserves for 4 years. He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from New Haven College in 1965. For 23 years, he worked for General Electric in Pittsfield, MA. There he raised his two children, Debbie and Kevin in the Berkshires Hills of Massachusetts from 1968 to 1992. After leaving General Electric, he worked for the U.S. Patent Office, retiring in 2010 as a GS-14.
Tom was known to be a bit of a handyman, always fixing or repairing the house. He hand-built the porch on his house in Massachusetts. He spent his summers in his vegetable garden. He loved home-cooked Italian food. He was especially proud of his 19 years of sobriety. One of the happiest days of his life was when he was walking both his daughter and her about to be husband down the aisle at their wedding.
Tom was known for his love of his family, especially his grandchildren Tessa and John, who always called him “Grampy”.
Tom is survived in death by his children Deborah (Phillip) Peeso-Demulling of Albert Lea, MN, and Kevin Peeso of Fredricksburg, VA; along with his grandchildren Tessa Demulling (fiance David Fulton) of CT and John Demulling. Also by his nieces Lisa Bredice, Maria Zullo, Amy Sonderman, and Joann Mieczakowski, along with numerous cousins.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Josephine “Josie”, along with his sister Theresa, and is dancing with them in heaven.
In lieu of flowers or sympathy cards, the family requests a donation to St. John's residents or to Alcoholics Anonymous at https://contribution.aa.org/#login-register for the organization that saved our lives.
