He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Colton, Aleksander, Amelia, Ayden, Nora, Jaylah, Jayden, Leilani, and Alice.
He is missed by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as longtime friends Russ and Ralph.
William lived a life defined by hard work and a love for the things that brought him joy. Over the years, William wore many hats (All Fords of course). He participated in demolition derbies in the late 70’s at the State Fairgrounds, sponsored by Denny’s Loft and KSTP. He was also known for stepping into the ring as both a referee and a wrestler for the AWA. William retired from Jerry’s Produce, where he met his longtime friends Jeff Bergin, Donny Parker, and Craig Bruley, along with other unnamed friends and coworkers who shared in his journey. He loved working on cars and especially loved Fords, taking great pride in his 2005 Ford F-350. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, and fishing.
“Sparky” was a jack of all trades. From owning his own arcade and having his own karaoke business, to running his own thrift shop, two cleaning businesses, Red Carpet Cleaning and Quality Maintenance Service, and a small auto repair shop.
A man of many talents, he played bass guitar at the Clover Club alongside Fred Sande, reflecting his lifelong love of music. His home was often filled with the timeless voices of Hank Williams, Boxcar Willie, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash, his favorite artists from the golden era. William had a strong passion for classic vehicles. He was also a collector of many things, such as movies and records.
William will be remembered for his humor and pranks, his stories, and his unmatched work ethic. His spirit lives on in the memories we hold and in the music that still plays in our hearts.
A special thank you to hospice nurse Alicia, aide Ericka, and Chaplain Wendy for taking such thoughtful care of William as if he were their own loved one. He truly enjoyed their visits and the warmth they brought into his final days.
Forever in our hearts — may he rest in peace.
