Kent Richard Flatness

Funeral Service for Kent Flatness will be held at 11am on Monday (1/20) at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home, 1415 N Hwy 13, Albert Lea. Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate. Kent Flatness, age 61 of Albert Lea, passed away on January 16, 2020 at The Woodland of St. Johns.

Kent was born on March 13, 1958. He was the son of Glenn and Arlene (Burkart) Flatness. He attended Alden Highschool. He worked at Winnebago and drove taxi. His passion was working on old cars, one in particular was his 1964 Chevy Impala early on.

He enjoyed spending time with his two sons and his two granddaughters when he could. He loved watching his son Brady competing in Demolition Derbys. He spent 27 years with his best friend Alzada and enjoyed relaxing with his dog Willie and cat Lucky.

Kent is survived by his son Jay (Amy Wise); granddaughters Alannah and Emma; special friend Alzada Gulbertson and her son Daniel; father Glenn; brothers Allan (Julie) and Arden (Thea); sisters-in-law Margaret and Kim; aunts Elaine Burkart and Arlene Flatness; uncle Fred Tetzlaff; nieces and nephews Allison, Erin, Valerie, Brianne, Jordan, April, Hollie, Crystal, Carolyn, Cory, and Seri; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Brady; mother Arlene; and brothers Dean, Wayne, Jerry and Lynn.
